Biden will announce that the Justice Department will pursue two new regulations: one to curb the proliferation of so-called ghost guns, and a second that would regulate stabilizing braces.

The push is underway in such states as Arizona, Michigan, Ohio, Maryland, Kentucky, Indiana and Pennsylvania, where legislators are seeking a constitutional amendment to strip the governor of many of his emergency powers.

President Biden laid out his approach to the pandemic before he took office. On Thursday, he began implementing it, calling the effort a “wartime undertaking.”

For more than a year and a half, President-elect Joe Biden campaigned promising to undo several Trump administration policies on Day 1 of his presidency, and now his team is filling in the details of that and more as he prepares to take office.

The advice from former Obama chiefs of staff Rahm Emanuel and Denis McDonough comes as Biden prepares to enter office with an agenda potentially stalled by a closely divided Congress: a much smaller House majority than expected and a 50-50 Senate, at best.
