Welcome to the State of the State Podcast

Teaser Episode

  • Katie Meyer

State of the State is a new, weekly podcast from PA Post — designed to keep you up to date on what’s happening in the state Capitol, but with a depth you don’t always get from the daily news.

Host Katie Meyer, who reports on Pennsylvania politics for NPR stations across the commonwealth, takes you behind the headlines with in-depth conversations about the latest news, featuring a rotating panel of guests.

If you’re familiar with State of the State’s predecessor, WITF’s podcast State House Sound Bites, you have an idea of what the new podcast is all about. We will continue to bring you the same weekly legislative updates you’ve come to expect, with even more insight and expert voices—interviews with Harrisburg insiders, outsiders, journalists and many others; plus, additional focus on how specific policies affect you.

We also want to hear more from you. If you have a question you’d like us to answer or a topic you think deserves more attention, submit it below. Your question might just be the basis for our next episode!

New episodes drop every Thursday. Check back here next week for a legislative update as lawmakers return to the Capitol following their summer recess. And starting September 27, State of the State will be available on iTunes, Google Play and more.
